Just-In-Time Teaching

LON-CAPA is an excellent tool to implement the complete cycle of Just-In-Time Teaching strategies.

  • Faculty can select from over 140,000 online problems written by peers or develop their own problems, and assign them to students.
  • Since the problems are randomized, students can discuss them with each other and learn from each other without "cheating."
  • Faculty can use the feedback from these assignments to adjust their lectures and particularly address detected student difficulties.
  • Formative assessment can continue during lecture using clickers.
  • Feedback from homework and exams can be used to develop new, more targeted problems, which faculty can add to the resource pool.
